The trial phase of the man accused of striking and killing Knox County Sheriff’s Office Deputy, Deputy Nicholas Weist, has concluded on Day 3 of the trial. Daylon Richardson will not testify in his own defense and the Defense had no evidence or testimony for the court. The jury was dismissed while Judge Kauzlarich, State’s Attorney Runty, and Defense Attorney Carmen conduct the jury instructions conference. The jury will come into the courtroom for closing statements and jury instruction.  A charge of Aggravated Reckless Homicide has been added as an option for the jury to choose.
