Princeton Police were called to 812 West Peru Street around 11:42 AM after a report of what seemed to be a decomposing human body. Officers arrived and confirmed the report, immediately securing the scene. The Bureau County Coroner was notified, and the Illinois State Police Crime Scene Unit began gathering evidence. The body has been taken by the coroner’s office for an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death. Identification is currently pending due to the body’s condition.
