In Sunday’s baseball action at Modern Woodmen Park, the Quad Cities River Bandits suffered a 5-2 defeat to the South Bend Cubs, marking another series loss. Despite a strong showing from their bullpen, which pitched 5.2 scoreless innings, the River Bandits couldn’t erase an early three-run deficit. Cubs’ Jordan Nwogu initiated scoring in the first inning, setting a challenging pace. Although Quad Cities narrowed the gap, including an RBI single from Brett Squires, consistent pressure from the Cubs’ pitchers kept the Bandits at bay. The Bandits now aim to shake off this loss as they prepare to face the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers in an upcoming six-game series.
