After a career that began in veterinary assistance and the APHA circuit, Eriksen discovered her calling in equine-assisted therapy, combining her passion for horses with social work. Her academic pursuits led her to develop courses on equine-assisted psychotherapy. Residing in Kentucky’s Bluegrass region, she balances her time between being a horse midwife and sharing her insights through writing and speaking. Her personal battle with undiagnosed PTSD and her path to recovery highlight the profound connection between humans and horses.
