Santa and Mrs. Claus are set to make a special appearance in Kewanee during the annual Lighted Parade on December 7th, beginning at 5 PM. The festive event will travel along W. McClure to S. Beach Street, ending at Windmont Park, where a dazzling fireworks display and the lighting of Windmont and Northeast Parks will take place. Windmont Park volunteers will hand out cookies to children, and organizers Alice Horrie and Mary Schlindwein are inviting community members to donate cookies, reminding bakers to keep recipes simple.
