SHARE NOW

In the early hours of October 22, 2024, deputies in Knox County conducted a routine traffic stop on Route 116 and Route 41, which led to a significant discovery. Inside a white SUV, authorities found a loaded 9mm pistol, later identified as stolen, along with a backpack containing methamphetamine, cocaine, a scale, and raw cannabis. The driver, 24-year-old Latrell Patterson, of Monmouth, was arrested and faces several charges, including possession of a stolen firearm and intent to deliver methamphetamine. Patterson is currently held at Knox County Jail, pending a court appearance. This incident highlights ongoing efforts by local law enforcement to combat drug trafficking and gun violence.

The state’s petition to deny pretrial release was granted, so Latrell Patterson will remain detained pending trial or a change in circumstances. A Preliminary Hearing is scheduled for November 13, 2024, at 2 PM.

Patterson is charged with Armed Violence (Class X Felony), Meth Delivery 100<400 Grams (Class X Felony), Armed Habitual Criminal (Class X Felony), Possession of Meth 100<400 Grams (Class X Felony), Felon in Possession of a Firearm (Class 2 Felony), Possession of a Stolen Firearm (Class 2 Felony), Mfg/Del Cannabis 30-500 Grams (Class 3 Felony), Possession of Controlled Substance (4 Felony), and Possession of Cannabis 30-500 Grams (Class A Misdemeanor).

All subjects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
