The Illinois Department of Innovation and Technology is set to draw crowds at this year’s Illinois State Fair by showcasing a range of cutting-edge science and technology. Visitors can expect interactive exhibits featuring 3D printing, robotics demonstrations, and engaging cybersecurity games. Of special note is a hands-on presentation about quantum computing, aiming to make this complex subject accessible to all ages. Organizers say these activities underscore Illinois’ leadership in technology and promote interest in STEAM careers among young fairgoers. The display is part of a larger initiative to highlight the state’s investment in innovation and future workforce development.
“Our state is leading the way forward for the next wave of technological innovation, and DoIT will be putting that on full display at the Illinois State Fair,” said Governor JB Pritzker. “I encourage Illinoisans of all ages to get out and experience the Illinois of tomorrow – from artificial intelligence to 3D printing to quantum computing and beyond.”
“We’re incredibly excited to bring the spirit of Illinois innovation to the Illinois State Fair,” said DoIT Acting Secretary and State Chief Information Officer Brandon Ragle. “The DoIT team has created an interactive playground where STEAM and quantum concepts come to life, offering fairgoers a unique opportunity to engage with the future of technology in a fun and educational way. We hope you’ll join us there.”
