SHARE NOW

In Henry County, local schools have embraced the Agriculture in the Classroom initiative, fostering agricultural education among young students. At Cambridge Elementary School, third graders delved into the world of pumpkins. They explored the life cycle of these versatile crops and crafted pumpkin life cycle charms. Meanwhile, first graders at Northside Elementary in Geneseo discovered the crucial role bats play in agriculture. Guided by Ag in the Classroom Coordinator, Paula Janson, these students crafted their own bats, gaining hands-on experience and understanding of nature’s interconnectedness. This program continues to enrich students’ knowledge of agriculture’s impact on their daily lives.
