Authorities are investigating a fatal collision involving a Buda man and a Sheffield farmer on 1250 N Avenue. An 82-year-old man driving a 2010 Nissan SUV struck a farm implement being towed by a John Deere tractor. Emergency crews from Buda and Sheffield quickly responded, working to extricate the SUV driver from the vehicle. He was transported by Stark County Ambulance to OSF Saint Clare Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, according to Bureau County Coroner Kurt Workman. Names of those involved are being withheld as officials notify the families. The tractor driver was not reported injured.

The accident remains under investigation by the Bureau County Sheriff’s Office and the Bureau County Coroner’s Office.
