OSF HealthCare is inviting community members to a free health-focused event this Friday, November 21, from 10 AM to 2 PM at the Bureau County Metro Center. The OSF OnCall King Care-A-Van is making stops to offer a range of free health services to the community. Staffed with digital health workers and a certified medical assistant, the Care-A-Van provides screenings for blood pressure, cholesterol, and glucose, as well as on-the-spot testing for COVID-19, flu, and strep—no appointment required. Attendees can access virtual visits for common minor illnesses. Diabetes educator Kandi Burlingame will share insights on recognizing and managing diabetes. The University of Illinois Extension is also on hand, offering heart-healthy recipes, food samples, and nutrition advice to promote better eating habits.
