Kewanee families are invited to Windmont Park next Friday, July 4th, at noon for a special community event with the Kewanee Police Department. Operation Juice Box, alongside Lisa Fornander and TRES CAFE, will distribute free Capri Sun juices and sandwiches to children. On the menu: ham and turkey sandwiches, each served with a juice pouch. Supplies are limited to about 50 sandwiches and will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis. Organizers hope to turn this into a weekly tradition, possibly expanding to different locations if the response is strong. Bring the kids and join Officer Carpenter and K9 Maverick for a fun, tasty afternoon.
