A Galesburg man has been charged with three counts of the criminal sexual assault of a child.  The Knox County Sheriff’s Office received information about a possible sexual assault in the Knox County area.  The Knox County Sheriff’s Office and the Galesburg police conducted an investigation and identified a suspect and multiple possible victims.  The potential victims were located throughout the state.  George R. Keske, 26, was arrested by the Knox County Sheriff’s Office and interviewed regarding the allegations of sexual assault of children under the age of 13.  Probable cause was found based on the interview, and the offenses were confirmed to have taken place in the Knox County area.  George Keske was released from the custody of the Knox County Jail with restrictions.  The State filed a petition for pretrial detention, but the judge denied the motion.

George Keske is charged with three (3) Counts of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault/Victim under 13. However, the investigation is ongoing, and more charges are expected in other jurisdictions. “The Knox County Sheriff’s Office makes cases involving our most vulnerable population a priority and will work diligently to take these offenders into custody.”  All subjects arrested are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.  Keske is to have no contact with the victims or any child under 17 years of age and seek a mental health evaluation.  Keske is allowed to travel to Iowa for work and must inform court services before leaving Illinois.  A Preliminary Hearing is scheduled for April 15, 2024, at 2 PM.
