In Galesburg, a major child pornography investigation has resulted in several arrests. Police executed search and arrest warrants at three locations last week. Kyle A. Clark and Edward J. Cox were detained on multiple counts of child pornography possession and dissemination. Timothy S. Agans, previously arrested in 2021, was also charged but released after a court hearing. “We take our mission to protect the children of our community very seriously,” stated Galesburg Police Chief Russell Idle. “Those who would prey on our young people will be identified, arrested, and brought to justice.” The joint investigation into child pornography activities was conducted in three separate locations in Galesburg. The Galesburg Police Department was assisted by the Illinois State Police, Knox County Sheriff’s Office, Illinois Attorney General’s Office Technical Division, and the Knox County State’s Attorney’s Office.
On Thursday, October 24, 2024, a search warrant and arrest warrant were executed at an address on Bateman Street in Galesburg. As a result of the warrants, Kyle A. Clark, age 38, was arrested for two counts of dissemination of child pornography and two counts of possession of child pornography. Kyle Clark is currently being detained in the Knox County Jail pending further court hearings.
On Thursday, October 31, 2024, a search warrant and arrest warrant were executed at an address on N Cherry Street in Galesburg. As a result of the warrants, Edward J. Cox, 25, was arrested and charged with seven counts of possession of child pornography. Edward Cox is being detained in the Knox County Jail pending further court hearings.
On Friday, October 25, 2024, a search warrant and arrest warrant were executed at an address on E Davis Street in Galesburg. As a result of the warrants, Timothy S. Agans was arrested and charged with 11 counts of possession of child pornography. Timothy Agans was arrested in 2021 for possession of child pornography and completed a diversion program. The Knox County State’s Attorney’s Office filed a petition to detain Timothy Agans. A hearing was conducted, and due to the provisions of the Pretrial Fairness Act, Agans was ordered released by the court over the objection of the State’s Attorney’s Office.
