Galva, Illinois, On 12/2/24, the Galva City Council voted to end the “RED DOOR TAG” process for delinquent water bills. Beginning with the bills processing 5/1/2025, your second notice shut-off date is a true shut-off date. The City of Galva staff will no longer be placing red door tag notices at residences offering another 5 days to pay. Second notices will print on yellow paper and must be paid by the due date to avoid disconnection. If you cannot make the payment by the due date, you must call City Hall to make arrangements to pay in a reasonable amount of time.
Failure to follow through on these arrangements will result in disconnection with no additional notice.
Once disconnection occurs, a $100 reconnect fee will be added to your water account and must be paid to restore service. We would like to remind everyone that when payment cannot be made on time, a call to City Hall with reasonable arrangements to pay will avoid disconnection and additional charges.
