Galva Man Sentenced to Probation and Electronic Home Monitoring for Battery of a Child

A Galva man has been sentenced to probation and electronic home confinement for battery of a child under 13 years old in April 2023. Bryce Glisan, 33, pleaded guilty to the aggravated battery of a child under 13 years old on June 14, 2024. As part of the plea agreement, the possession of meth case and the domestic battery charges were dismissed. According to court documents, Bryce Glisan committed aggravated battery when he struck a child with a belt multiple times, grabbed her by her hair, and threw her to the ground, leaving bruising on her upper arm and/or thigh. The two domestic battery charges against the same child were dismissed.

Bryce Glisan received 30 months probation, 180 days electronic home monitoring, credit for 14 days in jail, and must seek drug and anger management and recommended treatment, he can only leave home confinement for medical, court, or work purposes. He is not to possess or consume illegal substances and submit to random testing. He is to have no contact with the victim minor. He must submit a DNA sample and pay the associated costs, and a minimum fine. He must register as a Violent Offender Against Youth (VOAYA).
