    IMPACTS
    The dangerously cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in 30 minutes or less. Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. Keep pets indoors as much as possible. Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills inside.

December 29
While patrolling, officer noticed the NE 2 nd Street railroad crossing arms were going up and down and activated with no trains present. BNSF was contacted for repairs.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of East Division Street for a civil property dispute.

December 30
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of South Exchange Street for a 9-1-1 hang up complaint. It was determined to be a mis dial.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of NW 4 th Street to investigate an open door at a residence.
Officer and a family member were not able to locate anything that was missing. The door was re- secured.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 600 block of SE 2 nd Street, Blake Frampton, 32, Murray, KY, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration suspended for mandatory insurance and operating an uninsured vehicle. He was released with a required court date.
Officer was dispatched to the 600 block of SW 2 nd Ave for an ongoing issue with loose dogs running around. The dog owner was spoken to and advised of the Illinois leash law.
Officer met with a resident at the Galva PD to give them a freedom of information act request form.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 4 th Street for a physical domestic disturbance. As the result, Mandy Pratt, 45, Galva, was arrested for aggravated domestic battery, domestic battery, and battery. She was taken to the Henry Co Jail.

December 31
Officer was dispatched to assist Henry Co with a single vehicle rollover accident on Route 34 near Midland Road.
Officer met with a resident at the Galva PD to inform them of suicidal comments their juvenile child had reportedly posted on social media. The parent agreed to handle the situation without further police involvement.
Officer went to the 200 block of NW 7 th Ave to speak to a resident about trash that had blown into several neighbor’s yards during trash collection day.
Officer was dispatched to check the railroad tracks in town after information was received about a juvenile making suicidal threats on social media. The juvenile was located in the downtown area and turned over to a parent.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 4 th Street for a civil standby to retrieve property.

January 1
Officer was dispatched to a residence on NW 5 th Ave for a welfare check. The subject was fine.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NW 5 th Street for a loose dog complaint. The owner took the dog back home prior to officer’s arrival.
Officer was dispatched to the 700 block of NW 1 st Ave for a dog bite complaint. The animal owner was the victim and the dog was current on all of it’s shots.
Officer was dispatched to a residence on SW 7 th Street to remove an unwanted subject.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 500 block of SE 2 nd Street, William Barnes, 41, Galva, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration suspended for mandatory insurance and operating an uninsured vehicle. He was released with a required court date.
While patrolling, officer located an abandoned vehicle in the 300 block of SE 2 nd Street. It was tagged with a 72 hour tow away notice.
Officer spoke to a subject by telephone about a civil property dispute.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of Market Street for a 9-1-1 open line call. It was determined to be a medical emergency. Stark Co Medic was dispatched to respond.
Officer was dispatched to the 900 block of SE 2 nd Street for a deceptive practices / fraud complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of SW 4 th Street for a loud music complaint.

January 2
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of Swank Street for a barking dog complaint. The complaint was unfounded.
Officer met with a resident at the Galva PD to update their annual sex offender registration. A completed form was emailed to Henry Co for LEADS entry.
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of SE 2 nd Street for a child custody exchange.
Officer was dispatched to the 800 block of NE 2 nd Street for a civil matter / home repair fraud complaint.

January 3
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of NE 5 th Street for a sick / injured wild animal complaint involving a raccoon. While patrolling, officer located a disabled vehicle near SE 2 nd Street and Industrial Ave.

January 4
Officer spoke to a resident by telephone about a trespassing complaint in the 00 block of SW 4 th Street.
Officer had an abandoned vehicle removed from the 300 block of SE 2 nd Street that had previously been tagged for removal.
Officer, along with Stark Co Medic, were dispatched to a medical emergency in the 400 block of NW 11 th Street. There were no signs of life and the coroner was contacted to respond.
