February 3
Officer was dispatched to the 1000 block of SW 2 nd Street for a 9-1-1 hang up complaint. Upon investigating, it was determined to be a complaint involving a boyfriend that was suicidal. The suspect was located by Bureau Co in Mineral, IL.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of SW 5 th Ave for a suspicious vehicle complaint. Officer located the vehicle, but had no probable cause for a traffic stop.
Officer met with seven subjects at City Hall as they were applying for a solicitor’s permit. The permit was issued.
Officer warned a resident in the 700 block of NW 1 st Ave in reference to a city ordinance violation involving junk in the yard.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of SW 5 th Street for a 9-1-1 hang up complaint. It was determined to be an accidental mis dial.
Officer was dispatched to Stevens Vet Clinic for a loose dog that had been brought there. Employees recognized the dog and it was returned to it’s owner.
Officer was dispatched to the 1200 block of NW 3 rd Ave to deliver a message for Knox Co in reference to a disabled vehicle near Abingdon. The message was delivered.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 4 th Street for a verbal disturbance complaint.
February 4
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of NE 2 nd Street for a scam complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the 600 block of NW 5 th Street for a telephone harassment / threats complaint.
February 5
As the result of a traffic stop in the 600 block of SE 2 nd Street, Scott Fann, 36, Kewanee, was arrested for driving while license suspended, operating a vehicle when registration suspended for mandatory insurance and operating an uninsured vehicle. He was released with a required court date.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of South Center Ave for a loose dog complaint. Officer was not able to locate.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SE 4 th Street for an injured dog complaint. A loose dog was struck by a passing vehicle on South Center Ave. Officer contacted the owner and assisted them with loading the dog to take to the vet clinic.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of NE 4 th Ave to remove an unwanted subject.
While patrolling, officer located a subject sitting on the ground in the 500 block of SE 2 nd Street. The subject was entered into NCIC as a missing and endangered person. They were transported by ambulance for treatment / evaluation.
February 6
Officer was dispatched to the intersection of SW 2 nd Street and SW 2 nd Ave for a single vehicle accident, with damage only. A crash report was completed.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SE 1 st Street to check the welfare of a motorist parked there. The driver advised they were ok.
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of SW 7 th Street for a 9-1-1 open line complaint. It was determined to be a mis dial.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of SE 3rd Street for a motorist assist complaint. The subject had locked keys inside a car. The were referred to Tarletons for assistance.
Officer was dispatched to the 1000 block of SW 2 nd Street for a 9-1-1 rapid SOS call. It was determined to be a medical call.
February 7
Officer was dispatched to the 700 block of NW 4 th Street to try to assist a subject having a mental health crisis.
While patrolling, officer saw that a train had stopped and was blocking all Galva crossings. BNSF was contacted and the train eventually moved along.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 4 th Street for a complaint involving several suspicious people complaint. They were determined to be solicitors that had a valid permit.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 4 th Street for a verbal disturbance.
February 8
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of SE 7 th Ave for a verbal domestic disturbance.
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of SE 2 nd Street to assist a motorist that locked their keys inside the car. Henry Co was able to unlock it.
February 9
Officer was dispatched to Route 34 and 1850 East for a motorist assist after a vehicle became disabled. Officer gave the subject a ride to his residence.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 2 nd Street for a gas drive off complaint. The suspect returned and paid for the fuel.
Officer met with a resident at the Galva PD to talk about a written trespassing notice.
Officer was dispatched to the west edge of town to watch for a reckless driver coming from the Altona area. Officer was not able to locate the suspect vehicle.
Officer was dispatched to the 800 block of NE 3 rd Street for a domestic disturbance involving juveniles.
While patrolling, officer noticed a vehicle door open in the 500 block of NW 3 rd Ave. Officer spoke to the owner, who forgot to shut the door. Nothing was taken.
