April 28, 2025 through May 4, 2025

April 28
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of SE 4 th Ave for a property line dispute.
Officer was dispatched to assist Henry County with traffic control for a chemical spill east of town. About 25 gallons of fertilizer was spilled and cleaned up.
Officer met with two subjects at the Galva PD to complete fingerprinting.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of SE 4 th Street for a possible utility wire across the roadway. It was found to be a traffic counter.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of Swank Street to assist a citizen.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of SE 6 th Ave to investigate a suspicious odor. Officer checked the area and was not able to locate.

April 29
Officer assisted Henry Co with an abandoned vehicle east of town. Officer made contact with the registered owner and made arrangements for the vehicle to be removed.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 8 th Ave to complete a low speed vehicle inspection.
Officer was dispatched to the 1100 block of SE 2 nd Street for a 9-1-1 open line complaint. Officer could not locate anyone needing assistance.

April 30
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of Main Street for a domestic disturbance.
Officer was dispatched to the 900 block of West Division Street for a disorderly conduct / neighborhood dispute.
Officer was dispatched to Sentry Estates to assist a citizen.
Officer was dispatched to the intersection of Morgan Road and NW 1 st Ave for a two vehicle accident with damage only. A crash report was completed.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of NW 4th Ave to complete a low speed vehicle inspection.
Officer was dispatched to Wiley Park for a complaint involving juveniles standing on top of vehicles.

May 1
Officer was dispatched to the 700 block of NW 4 th Street for an unknown complaint. The subject appeared to be suffering from a mental health crisis.
Officer was dispatched to the 1000 block of NW 7 th Ave for an animal complaint involving chicken running around with no fence or enclosure. The resident was advised to capture and re-locate them.
Officer was dispatched to the 800 block of NE 2 nd Ave for a solicitor complaint. Officer spoke to a solicitor and advised them to either obtain a permit or cease their activity.
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of NE 3 rd Street for a runaway juvenile complaint. The subject returned home within a few minutes.
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of West Division Street for a subject having a mental health crisis. The subject was taken by ambulance for an evaluation.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of NW 1 st Street to remove unwanted subjects after a verbal disturbance. As the result, Brandon Swank, 29, and Jamie Howard, 36, Galva, were both arrested for disorderly conduct and assault. They were served with a written banning notice and released with required court dates.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of SE 1 st Street for a disabled and abandoned vehicle. The vehicle was tagged and the owner removed it the following morning.

May 2
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of Main Street for a trespassing complaint. A resident was served with a written banning letter.
Officer was dispatched to the 1000 block of NW 7 th Ave for a complaint involving loose chickens. The
chickens were found to be contained by a coop.
Officer was dispatched to the 900 block of NE 2 nd Street for a property line dispute.
Officer was dispatched to the 700 block of NW 4 th Street to assist a citizen. The subject appeared to be suffering from a mental health crisis.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of NE 1 st Street for a complaint involving a child that wandered away from home. The child was re-united with family members within minutes.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of SW 3 rd Street for a civil property dispute.
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of SE 2 nd Street for a civil standby.

May 3
Officer was dispatched to the 700 block of NW 4 th Street to assist a resident that was suffering from a mental health crisis.
Officer was dispatched to the 800 block of NE 2 nd Street for a property line dispute.

May 4
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of SW 5 th Street for a complaint involving a stray cat attacking a dog.
Officer was dispatched to the 600 block of South Center Ave for a “crash detection notification from an I-phone.” It was a false alarm.
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of SE 6 th Ave to assist an elderly resident with removing a bee that had gotten into the residence.
Officer was dispatched to the SW 6 th Ave railroad crossing from a crossing arm malfunction. BNSF was contacted for repairs.
Officer was dispatched to the 800 block of West Division Street for a loose dog complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of NE 1 st Street for a verbal domestic disturbance.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NW 1 st Street for a suspicious vehicle complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of Front Street for a welfare check.
