    The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 30 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must go outside. Keep pets indoors as much as possible. Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills inside.

June 16, 2025 through June 22, 2025

June 16
Officer was dispatched to the 600 block of NE 1 st Ave for a landlord / tenant concern.
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of Exchange Street to recover property that had been dropped / lost.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NW 3 rd Ave for a verbal disturbance between subjects that know each other.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 4 th Street for a disturbance. As the result, Amber Jordan, 30, Galva, was arrested for aggravated assault and disorderly conduct. She was taken to the Henry Co Jail.
Officer was dispatched to the 800 block of NE 2 nd Street for an abandoned vehicle complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of NE 4 th Street for a disorderly conduct complaint after multiple phone calls and emails were sent to dispatch with false claims. As the result, John Kurzeja, 44, Galva, was issued a notice to appear in court for disorderly conduct. He refused to answer the door, so it was read aloud and a copy was left on the doorstep.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of NE 4 th Street to assist a citizen who appeared to be suffering from a mental health crisis.

June 17
Officer was dispatched to a residence on West Division Street for a report of a suicidal subject. The complaint was unfounded.
Officer was dispatched to the Galva south water treatment plant for a trespassing complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of NW 4 th Street for a child custody complaint.
Officer was dispatched to Galva – Atkinson blacktop just north of town to assist a motorist with a disabled vehicle. The vehicle was gone upon officer’s arrival.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of NE 4 th Street to assist a citizen who appeared to be suffering from a mental health crisis.
Officer was dispatched to a residence on NE 4 th Street for a possible suicidal subject. The complaint was unfounded.

June 18
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of NW 4 th Ave for a complaint involving a large tree limb that fell and took out a power wire, phone line, and cable wire. Ameren was contacted and responded before the Galva Street Dept cleaned up the limb.
Officer assisted with traffic control for a survey crew conducting a seismic study on Route 34 just east of Galva.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of SE 1 st Street for a utility wire that was down. It was determined to be phone line. Frontier was contacted for repairs.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 4 th Street for a cat bite complaint. A subject was bitten by their own cat after surprising it. It was found to be current on all it’s shots.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 100 block of SW 2 nd Street, Anthony Kimmons, 38, Galesburg, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration suspended for mandatory insurance. He was released with a required court date.
Officer was dispatched to a residence on SE 6 th Ave for a welfare check. The subject was fine.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of NE 4 th Street to assist a citizen who appeared to be suffering from a mental health crisis.
While patrolling, officer noticed a train had stopped and was blocking all Galva crossings. BNSF was contacted and the train eventually moved along.

June 19
While patrolling, officer located an open door on a building in the 200 block of NW 4 th Ave. Officer checked around and didn’t see anything unusual. The door was secured.
Officer was dispatched to a residence on SW 4 th Street for a welfare check. The subject was located and was fine.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of SW 4 th Street for a complaint involving an abandoned shopping cart from a business downtown. Officer walked the cart back and returned it.
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of NW 7 th Street for a missing juvenile complaint. The child had left the residence on a bicycle and was quickly located and returned.
Officer was dispatched to a complaint in the 200 block of NE 7 th Street. After arriving, officer located a wanted subject. As the result, Braden Jones, 46, Galva, was arrested on a Henry Co warrant for failing to appear on the charge of driving while license revoked. He was given a notice to appear in court and released.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of SE 6 th Street for a juvenile mischief complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of NE 1 st Ave for a neighbor dispute.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of SW 4 th Ave for a loose dog complaint. Officer was not able to locate.
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of SW 5 th Street to assist a citizen.

June 20
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of Front Street for a suspicious vehicle complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of SE 2 nd Street for a harassment complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of SE 2 nd Street for a missing person complaint. They were located and came back home.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of NE 4 th Street after multiple calls from a resident who was reporting various crimes that were unfounded. An arrest without warrant was signed for the offender’s arrest. On 06-22-25, John Kurzeja was located and arrested for several counts of disorderly conduct- filing a false police report. He was taken to the Henry Co Jail.

June 21
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of East Division Street for a complaint of a curfew violation. The subjects were old enough to be out after hours.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 1100 block of SE 2 nd Street, Nicholas Miller, 31, Galva, was arrested for not having a valid drivers license, having expired registration, and operating an uninsured vehicle. He was released with a required court date.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of NE 3 rd Street for a two vehicle accident with damage only. A crash report was completed.
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of SW 6 th Street for a 9-1-1 hang up complaint. It was determined to be a mis dial.
While patrolling, officer located a group of people at the Galva Cemetery after 10pm. The subjects were checked and then advised of the cemetery hours. They were asked to leave.
Officer was dispatched to the 1000 block of SW 2 nd Street for a 9-1-1 mis dial complaint. It was determined to be a mis dial.

June 22
Officer was dispatched to the 1000 block of SW 2 nd Street for a verbal domestic disturbance.
Officer was dispatched to the intersection of Industrial Ave and SE 8 th Street to assist a subject that was walking.
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of SW 3 rd Ave for a domestic disturbance.
