July 15, 2024, through July 21, 2024

July 15
Officer was dispatched to the intersection of 200 North and 2250 East for an I-phone detected accident. Upon officer’s arrival, Henry Co dispatch made contact with the owner of the phone. False alarm.
Officer was advised of a vehicle repossession that was occurring in the 00 block of NW 8th Ave. The vehicle was removed without incident.
Officer was notified about a vehicle repossession taking place in the 00 block of SW 5th Street. The vehicle was removed without incident.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of East Division Street for an unruly juvenile complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the 800 block of North Center Ave for a tree down, due to a powerful windstorm.
Officer was dispatched to the 800 block of West Division Street for trees and power lines down in the roadway.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of SE 2nd Street for trees and power lines down in the roadway.
Officer was dispatched to the 800 block of NW 5th Ave for power lines down in the roadway.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of NW 3rd Ave for power lines down.
Officer, along with the fire department, were dispatched to the 400 block of SW 3rd Ave for the odor of natural gas in the area. Personnel were not able to locate the source.
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of SE 4th Street for a large tree that had fallen near a house.
Officer was dispatched to a residence on NW 5th Ave for a welfare check. Contact was not made.
Officer was dispatched to the 800 block of NW 1st Ave for a large tree limb and power lines that were down.
Officer, and the fire department, were dispatched to the 800 block of NW 3rd Ave for power wires on fire and tree limbs down in a yard.
Officer was dispatched to the 1000 block of West Division Street for power lines laying in the roadway. The road was barricaded and Ameren was contacted.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of SE 4th Street for power wires and tree limbs laying across a parked vehicle.

July 16
Officer was dispatched to assist Knox Co with a single vehicle accident with injuries about 3 miles south of Galva on Route 17. A box truck drove through a t-intersection and struck an embankment. Knox Co arrived and handled crash report.
Officer was dispatched to the 800 block of SW 4th Street for a power pole that had snapped off and was “dangling.” Ameren was contacted for repairs.
While patrolling, officer noticed power wires across the roadway in the 00 block of NE 5 th Ave. Barricades were set up to warn other motorists.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NE 6th Street for three loose dogs. The owner was contacted and arrived to put the dogs back inside.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NE 4th Street for power wires down in the front yard. Caution tape was placed around the yard and Ameren was contacted.
Officer was dispatched to a residence on NE 5th Street for a welfare check. The subject was fine.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 8th Ave for power wires laying in the yard. The lines were identified as telephone lines. Frontier was contacted for repairs.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 700 block of West Division Street, Jennifer Klinebough, 41, Monmouth, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration suspended for mandatory insurance and operating an uninsured vehicle. She was released with a required court date.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NE 7th Street for a verbal domestic disturbance.
While on an unrelated complaint, he heard someone yelling for “help” in the area. He was not able to locate anyone.

July 17
Officer, along with the fire department, were dispatched to a downed power line shooting flames in the 800 block of NW 1st Ave. Ameren responded and was able to shut off power to the wire.
While patrolling, officer saw a solicitor going door-to-door in the 100 block of SE 6th Street. The subject did not have a permit and was referred to City Hall to obtain one.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of SW 5th Ave to complete a low speed vehicle inspection.
Officer was dispatched to the east edge of town for a reckless driving complaint that occurred south of Kewanee. Officer stopped the suspect vehicle for an equipment violation and informed him of the driving complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of Main Street for a loose dog complaint. The owner was contacted and retrieved the dog.
Officer was dispatched to the intersection of NE 1st Street and NE 2nd Ave for a power wire down. The line was actually a phone line.
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of SE 1st Ave for a reckless driving complaint. Officer stopped a suspect vehicle and the driver denied disobeying stop signs. No action was taken.

July 18
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of SE 2nd Street for an abandoned vehicle. The owner made arrangements with the business to remove it later in the day.
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of SE 3rd Street for a missing person-adult complaint. A subject had left after a verbal argument and hadn’t heard from him since. The subject returned home a few minutes later.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 100 block of NW 3rd Street, Ronald Bender, 47, Kewanee, was arrested for not having a valid driver’s license, driving while license revoked, and operating an uninsured vehicle. He was transported to the PD for processing and then released with a required court date.
Officer, along with the fire department, were dispatched to the 600 block of SE 8th Ave for a possible electrical fire.
Officer drove around town and marked down several ordinance violations. 16 warning letters were sent via mail.

July 19
Officer was dispatched to the 700 block of NE 1st Ave for an illegal burning complaint. The fire was put out.
Officer was dispatched to the 900 block of West Division Street for a disorderly conduct complaint involving a subject yelling profanities.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of NE 6th Street for a loose dog complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of NE 4th Ave for a verbal domestic disturbance between brothers.
Officer was dispatched to the west edge of town to watch for a reckless driver coming from the Knox Co line. Officer was not able to locate suspect vehicle.

July 20
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of SW 5th Ave for a 9-1-1 open line complaint. It was a pocket dial.
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of SE 2nd Street for a two vehicle accident with damage only on private property.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of SW 3rd Street for a disorderly conduct complaint involving a subject screaming obscenities. The subject was believed to be having a mental health crisis.

July 21
Officer was dispatched to the east edge of town after a Henry Co deputy saw two motorcycles driving S/B over 100 miles an hour from Route 78 south of Kewanee. Officer did not locate.
Officer was dispatched to the 900 block of West Division Street for a disorderly conduct complaint involving someone yelling profanities during the night.

July 17
Michael McCann, 30, Altona, was issued a citation for having expired registration in the 00 block of SE 5th Street.
Cyrus Lilly, 18, Galva, was issued a citation for speeding in the 1100 block of SE 2nd Street.

July 19
Andrew Williams, 47, Galva, was issued a citation for having expired registration in the 900 block of SE 2nd Street.

July 21
Tianna Watts, 27, Kewanee, was issued a citation for having expired registration in the 500 block of West Division Street.
Christopher Edmunds, 39, Coal Valley, was issued citations for having expired registration and operating an uninsured vehicle in the 300 block of SE 2nd Street.
