October 7
Officer met with a subject at the Galva PD to complete an address change for a sex offender moving into Galva. The registration was completed and emailed to Henry Co for LEADS entry.
Officer met with a resident at the Galva PD to update their contact info on their sex offender registration. The updates were emailed to Henry Co for LEADS entry.
Officer spoke to a resident by telephone in reference to a background check.

October 8
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 4 th Street to investigate a strange smell.
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of SE 4 th Street for a fraud / internet scam complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the 600 block of SE 2 nd Street for a 9-1-1 hang up call. It was determined to be a mis dial.
Officer was dispatched to the 1000 block of SE 2 nd Street for a suspicious person complaint. Officer was not able to locate the subject.
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of NW 7 th Ave for a theft complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the Galva Park District for a complaint involving a depressed juvenile trying to harm himself.

October 9
Officer was dispatched to assist the ambulance with a medical emergency on Exchange Street.
Officer met with FEMA officials to discuss storm damage around town from July, 2024.
Officer was dispatched to a residence on SE 4 th Street to check the welfare of a subject that called an employers and sounded depressed. Officer spoke to the subject, who advised he was fine.
Officer met with a complainant at the Galva PD in reference to a scam she fell victim to in reference to booking a flight with American Airlines.
Officer was dispatched to assist Henry Co with a physical altercation between students on a Galva school bus on County Highway 5 at 650 North.
Officer was dispatched to Wiley Park to check on a suspicious vehicle / occupant. The subject was just enjoying the weather and wasn’t doing anything illegal.
Officer, along with the ambulance, were dispatched to the 300 block of NW 4 th Ave for a choking victim. The item was dislodged before help arrived.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 200 block of SW 3 rd Street, Alan Gardiner-Atkinson, 69, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration suspended for mandatory insurance and operating an uninsured vehicle. He was released with a required court date.
Officer was notified about a vehicle repossession that was taking place at Sentry Estates. The vehicle was removed without incident.

October 10
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of Main Street for a two vehicle accident with damage only. The drivers exchanged insurance info after minor damage was located.
Officer assisted a citizen in the 700 block of NW 5 th Ave.
Officer was dispatched to the 1100 block of NW 5 th Ave for a loose dog complaint. The dog was impounded and later found to belong to a subject from rural Bishop Hill. The dog was returned to it’s owner.
Officer was dispatched to assist Henry Co with a suicide by handgun at a rural address several miles east of town.

October 11
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of Front Street for a domestic disturbance.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of NE 9 th Street for a theft complaint of items from a garage sale.
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of West Division Street for a loose dog complaint. Officer was not able to locate.
Officer, along with the fire department, were dispatched to the 600 block of SE Industrial Ave for a grass fire.
Officer was dispatched to the south edge of town for a traffic complaint that was received through Stark Co. Officer did not locate suspect vehicle.
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of NE 2 nd Street for a juvenile complaint involving kids throwing rocks at houses. Officer was not able to locate them.
Officer was dispatched to the Galva Cemetery for a domestic disturbance in a passing vehicle that had pulled into there. Knox Co was advised of the complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the 1200 block of SE 2 nd Street for a possible intoxicated driver leaving Galva.
Officer, and a Henry Co deputy, were not able to locate.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 2 nd Street for an activated burglar alarm. It was determined to be a false alarm.

October 12
Officer spoke to a subject by telephone about a medicare scam she received by telephone.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of Front Street for a harassing phone calls / social media complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 4 th Street for a theft complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of NW 5 th Street for a juvenile complaint involving a group of teenagers kicking / hitting doors and then running away. Officer was not able to locate them.

October 13
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of SW 7 th Street to meet a subject requesting a civil standby to retrieve property.
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of NE 1 st Street for a criminal damage to property complaint involving broken windows.
Officer was dispatched to the 700 block of NW 1 st Ave for a neighbor dispute.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NE 6 th Ave for a complaint involving a group of juveniles that ran behind the complainant’s house and appeared to be hiding. Officer was not able to locate anyone.
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of North Center Ave for a complaint involving a group of juveniles knocking on doors and then running off. Officer was not able to locate anyone.
Officer was dispatched to the 700 block of NW 1 st Ave for a 9-1-1 open line complaint. It was determined to be a mis dial.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of NW 2 nd Ave for a barking dog complaint. As the result, Courtney Turner, 31, Galva, was issued an administrative warning ticket (AWT) for allowing a dog to bark.

Brian Dennis, 19, Altona, was issued a citation for speeding in the 1000 block of SW 2 nd Street.
A 17 year old Galva juvenile was issued a citation for speeding in the 1300 block of SE 2 nd Street.
