November 10
Officer was dispatched to meet a subject at the Galva PD in reference to an assault complaint. Officer learned it allegedly occurred in Kewanee. It was referred to Kewanee PD.
Officer was dispatched to the 1300 block of SE 2 nd Street for a fraud / identity theft complaint.
Officer was dispatched toa residence on SE 6 th Street for a juvenile needing a mental health evaluation.
November 11
While patrolling, officer witnessed a 2 vehicle accident at the intersection of NW 1 st Street and NW 5 th Ave. Both vehicles and a utility pole suffered extensive damage, however, no injuries were reported. As the result, a 17 year old Galva teen was issued a citation for failure to yield the right-of-way at a yield intersection.
Officer was dispatched to a residence on SW 4 th Ave for a welfare check. No contact was made.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of NW 9 th Street for a loose dog complaint.
November 12
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of SE 3 rd Ave to assist a citizen.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 4 th Street for an aggressive animal complaint.
While patrolling, officer saw a small leaf fire in the 200 block of SW 5 th Street. The resident was asked to put it out as it wasn’t a burn day.
While patrolling, officer saw a large leaf fire in the 200 block of NW 7 th Ave. The resident was asked to put it out as it wasn’t a burn day.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of SE 5 th Street for a dog bite complaint. A neighbor’s dog had bitten the complainant’s dog, causing minor injuries.
Officer was dispatched to a residence on East Division Street to check the welfare of a subject. They were fine.
Officer was dispatched to a medical alarm call that plotted on NE 5 th Street. It was determined to be an accidental activation.
November 13
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of SE 2 nd Street to assist a motorist that locked their keys inside a vehicle. Henry Co was not able to get vehicle unlocked. Owner was referred to Tarletons or another locksmith for assistance.
Officer was dispatched to the 600 block of NW 2 nd Street for a civil property dispute.
Officer went to the 00 block of SE 6 th Street in reference to a city ordinance violation of having junk within public view.
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of Exchange Street for a 9-1-1 call. It was determined to be an accidental mis dial.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of SW 4 th Ave for a domestic disturbance. As the result, Jamie Howard, 37, Galva, was arrested on a Henry Co warrant for failure to appear on the charge of domestic battery. She was taken to the Henry Co Jail.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of SW 1 st Ave to check an open door.
Officer was dispatched to the west edge of town to watch for a reckless driver coming towards town.
Officer located the suspect vehicle, but did not see an violations to justify a traffic stop.
November 14
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of SE 6 th Street to assist a motorist.
While patrolling, officer saw a small fire in the 200 block of NE 1 st Street. The resident was asked to put it out as it wasn’t a burn day.
Officer was dispatched multiple times for 9-1-1 calls in the 00 block of NE 4 th Street. As the result, John Kurzeja, 44, Galva, was arrested by Galva and Henry Co for aggravated battery to a police officer, threatening a public official, disorderly conduct-false police reports, and disorderly conduct pointing a laser pointer at police. He was taken to the Henry Co Jail.
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of West Division Street to assist a citizen.
Officer was dispatched to the 600 block of NW 5 th Ave to assist a citizen.
November 15
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of SW 1 st Ave for a verbal domestic disturbance.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of Commercial Street to assist a motorist.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of NE 7 th Street after a subject located a wallet and wanted to turn it into police.
November 16
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of NE 9 th Street for a large fire. It was determined to be a controlled burn.
Officer was dispatched to Route 34 just east of town to assist Henry Co with a moving domestic disturbance in a passing vehicle.
