December 23
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of NE 3 rd Street for a 9-1-1 hang up call that was plotting there. Officer located a subject that requested an ambulance. The patient was transported for treatment.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 100 block of SE 8 th Avenue, Eric Perez, 23, Kewanee, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration suspended for mandator insurance and operating an uninsured vehicle. He was released with a required court date.
Officer was dispatched to the 800 block of NE 3 rd Street for an ongoing issue with loose cats in the area. The animal owner was reminded about the Illinois leash law.
Officer was dispatched to Route 17 near the Galva Cemetery for a reckless driver complaint. Officer located the vehicle, but did not observe any violations for a traffic stop.
Officer was dispatched to the 1000 block of NW 7 th Ave for an illegal burning complaint on a non-burn day. The violator was educated on the ordinance and agreed to put the fire out.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of NE 9 th Street for a traffic complaint involving a car running a stop sign and nearly causing a collision. Officer checked the area and was not able to find the suspect vehicle.
Officer was dispatched to a residence on NE 3 rd Street for a suicidal subject. They were transported by ambulance for evaluation / treatment.
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of SE 2 nd Street for a report involving a lost or stolen wallet. The wallet was located by the complainant where they had left it.
December 24
Officer was dispatched to the east edge of town for a reckless driving complaint. The suspect vehicle was not located.
December 25
As the result of a traffic stop in the 500 block of SE Industrial Ave, Ryley Rafferty, 23, Galva, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration suspended for mandatory insurance. He was released with a required court date.
December 26
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of SW 5 th Street to deliver a message.
Officer was dispatched to a residence on SW 4 th Street for a welfare check. The subject was found to be in a local hospital.
Officer was dispatched to the 900 block of SE 2 nd Street for a 9-1-1 hang up call. Officer was not able to locate anyone needing assistance.
Officer was dispatched to the 700 block of North Center Ave for a civil property dispute.
December 27
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of SW 6 th Ave for an open door on a car. Owner was contacted and said nothing appeared to be missing.
Officer assisted Henry Co with a single vehicle accident a couple miles north of town.
Officer was dispatched to a residence on SW 4 th Street for a welfare check.
Officer was dispatched to assist Henry Co with another single vehicle accident north of town.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 00 block of SW 2 nd Street, Derek Johnson, 36, Kewanee, was issued citations for operating a vehicle when registration suspended for mandatory insurance, operating an uninsured vehicle, and no valid registration. He was released with a required court date.
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of SE 7 th Ave to assist Kewanee PD with a theft complaint. The item was recovered and returned to Kewanee officers.
December 28
Officer was dispatched to the 800 block of NE 3 rd Street for a loose cat complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of SW 3 rd Ave to remove an unwanted subject. As the result, Brandon Swank, 29, Galva, was arrested for violation of an order of protection. He was taken to the Henry Co Jail.
Officer was dispatched to a residence on South Center Ave for a welfare check.
While patrolling, officer located a disabled vehicle near the intersection of SE 8 th Ave and SE 2 nd Street.
