February 10
Officer was dispatched to the 700 block of NW 4 th Street to assist a subject that appeared to be suffering from a mental health crisis.
Officer was dispatched to the 700 block of NE 2 nd Street in reference to a crossbow bolt that was found sticking in the yard. It was later determined to have come from a neighbor’s property. Officer went to a residence in the 100 block of NE 6 th Ave and seized the crossbow that was used in this incident.

February 11
Officer was dispatched to the 1100 block of SE 2 nd Street for a 9-1-1 hang up call. Officer determined it was a medical emergency involving a subject with electrical burns. Stark Co Medic was dispatched and transported subject for evaluation / treatment.
Officer was dispatched to the west edge of town to watch for a reckless driver that was on Route 34 from the Altona area. Officer located the suspect vehicle, but did not find any reason for a traffic stop.
Officer, along with the fire department, were dispatched to the 00 block of SW 4 th Street, for a report of a strong smoke odor. Officer noticed a neighbor burning leaves and the smoke blowing directly to the building. Fire Department was not able to locate anything other than the burnt leaves smell.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 500 block of SE 2 nd Street, Gregory Dekle, 39, Kirkwood, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration suspended for mandatory insurance and operating an uninsured vehicle. He was released with a required court date.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of NE 2 nd Street to check on a suspicious vehicle / parking complaint. The subject was visiting a neighbor.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of NW 4 th Street for a 9-1-1 mis dial complaint. It was determined to be an accidental dial.
Officer was notified about a vehicle repossession that was taking place in the 300 block of NE 1 st Street. The vehicle was removed without incident.

February 12
Officer, along with Stark Co Medic and the fire department, were dispatched to the 500 block of South Center Ave for an accident involving a vehicle striking a house. Minor injuries were reported. The car appeared to be totaled. As the result, Schlaan Murray, 18, Kewanee, was issued citations for failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident and driving too fast for conditions. A crash report was completed.
While patrolling, officer noticed the crossing arms were down and activated with no trains present at the Exchange Street crossing. BNSF was contacted for repairs.
Officer was dispatched to the 1000 block of SW 2 nd Street for a loose dog complaint. Officer was not able to locate.
Officer was dispatched to the 600 block of NW 7 th Ave to assist a citizen. As the result, Brett Harlan, 40, Galva, was arrested on two Knox Co warrants for failing to appear on the charges of possession of methamphetamine, and criminal trespass to building. Knox Co requested that he be released with a new court date.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NW 2 nd Street for a cat bite complaint. The cat owner suffered a minor bite mark on her hand.

February 13
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of NE 4 th Street for a civil standby to exchange property.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of NW 2 nd Street for a hit-and-run accident with minor vehicle damage. Both parties were located and a crash report was completed.
AS the result of a traffic stop in the 500 block of SE 2 nd Street, Hunter Brill, 26, Galesburg, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration suspended for mandatory insurance, operating an uninsured vehicle, and having expired registration. He was released with a required court date.
Officer went to the 1000 block of SE 2 nd Street to attempt to locate a wanted subject. As the result, Michael Thuline, 56, Galva, was arrested on a Henry Co warrant for the charge of failing to appear on the charges of aggravated battery to a police officer, 3 counts of resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct. He was taken to the Henry Co Jail.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 2 nd Street to assist a motorist that was low on fuel after business hours. They were given directions to Fast Stop on SE 2 nd Street.

February 14
Officer was dispatched to the 700 block of NW 4 th Street to try to assist a subject having a mental health crisis.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of Front Street for a welfare check. Officer was not able to make contact with the subject.

February 15
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of SW 3 rd Street for a 9-1-1 hang up complaint. It was determined to be a mis dial.
Officer was dispatched to the 800 block of NE 2 nd Ave to assist a citizen.
Officer met with a sex offender at the Galva PD to update their annual registration. A copy was emailed to Henry Co for LEADS entry.
Officer was dispatched to the SW 6 th Ave railroad crossing for a crossing arm malfunction. BNSF was contacted for repairs.
Officer was dispatched to a residence on NE 2 nd Ave for a welfare check. The subject was fine.
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of NW 2 nd Ave for a domestic disturbance involving a juvenile being out-of-control.

February 16
While patrolling, officer checked on an occupied vehicle in the 300 block of SW 3 rd Street during the night. The subject was waiting for someone else.
Officer was flagged down by a resident in the 200 block of North Exchange Street.
Officer was dispatched to the 700 block of West Division Street for a parking complaint involving a semi parked with no lights on. The driver was advised to move elsewhere.

Roger Hochstetler, 43, Galva, was issued citations for having expired registration and operating an uninsured vehicle.

February 16
Mika Miller, 38, Kewanee, was issued a citation for having expired registration in the 100 block of SE 2 nd Street.
Garrett Pistole, 24, Walnut, was issued a citation for speeding in the 1000 block of North Center Ave.
