March 17, 2025 through March 23, 2025

March 17
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 4 th Street for a loud noise complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the 700 block of NW 4 th Street to assist a citizen who appeared to be suffering from a mental health crisis.
Officer was dispatched to the railroad crossing on SW 6 th Ave for a crossing arm malfunction. BNSF was contacted for repairs.
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of SW 5 th Street to assist a citizen.
Officer was dispatched to assist a resident who had accidentally locked their keys inside a vehicle with a small child. Officer contacted Tarletons to assist as the child did not appear to be in any distress. They were able to unlock the door.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of NE 2 nd Street in reference to a civil property dispute.
Officer was dispatched to the east edge of town to watch for a vehicle that was not able to maintain it’s own lane. Officer was not able to locate it.
Officer was dispatched to the 1000 block of NW 7 th Ave for a juvenile runaway complaint. Officer located the child, who did not want to return home. A crisis intervention worker came to the PD and spoke to the child and parent.
Officer was dispatched to a disturbance in the 400 block of North Center Ave.

March 18
While patrolling, officer checked on a subject walking during the night in the 400 block of SW 3 rd Ave. The subject advised they were walking home after falling asleep at a friend’s house.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 4 th Street for a verbal disturbance.
Officer, along with the fire department, were dispatched to the 900 block of West Division Street for an activated smoke alarm. It was determined to be a false alarm.
Officer met with a subject at the city impound lot to retrieve items from an impounded car.
Officer was dispatched to the 600 block of SW 1 st Ave for a traffic complaint involving a lawnmower driving on roadway late at night. Officer did not locate.

March 19
Officer spoke to a resident in the 500 block of SW 2 nd Ave about large items being put out for the trash. They were informed to purchase a large item sticker and contact Eagle Enterprises.
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of NE 1 st Street to assist a transient that needed lodging.
Officer was dispatched to assist Henry Co with a single vehicle accident several miles north of town.

March 20
Officer was flagged down about a crossing arm malfunction at the SW 6 th Ave crossing. BNSF was contacted for repairs.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of Front Street to check on a suspicious person. The subject was determined to be a transient waiting for a ride.
Officer was dispatched to the 700 block of NW 4 th Street to assist a citizen who appeared to be suffering from a mental health crisis.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of SW 3 rd Street to assist a citizen who appeared to be suffering from a mental health crisis.
Officer assisted a transient by providing a ride to the subject to a location several miles west of town.
Officer was dispatched to a residence on NE 7 th Street to remove an unwanted subject.

March 21
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of SW 3 rd Street for a 9-1-1 hang up complaint. The subject was determined to be suffering from a mental health crisis.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of Market Street for a gas drive off complaint.
Officer was dispatched to a residence on NE 7 th Street to remove an unwanted subject. The offender was served with a written banning letter.
Officer was dispatched to Sentry Estates for a 9-1-1 hang up complaint. Officer determined a subject was setting up a medical alert necklace and did not have an emergency.
Officer was dispatched to the intersection of NW 2 nd Ave and NW 2 nd Street for a complaint involving a dead raccoon in the roadway. The animal was removed by the street dept.
Officer was dispatched to the 700 block of NW 4 th Street to assist a citizen that was suffering from a mental health crisis.
Officer was flagged down about a deceased deer that was laying in the roadway about 2 miles south of
the Galva cemetery. The deer was removed.
Officer was dispatched to the 600 block of NW 1 st Street for a juvenile complaint involving several
juveniles knocking on random doors and then running away. Officer was not able to locate.

March 22
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 4 th Street for an activated fire alarm. It was determined to be a false alarm.
Officer was dispatched to the east edge of town to watch for a reckless driver that was reportedly travelling towards Galva on Route 34. Officer was not able to locate.

March 23
While patrolling, officer located an opened garage door on SW 2 nd Ave. Nobody was found in the area so the door was closed.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of North Center Ave for a civil standby to exchange personal property.
Officer was dispatched to Wiley Park for a complaint of 2 dogs running loose. Officer also located the animal owners, who were out looking for the dogs. They were returned to their owners.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 2 nd Street for a motorist assist for a subject that locked their keys inside the vehicle. Henry Co also responded and was able to unlock the door.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of SW 3 rd Street to assist a resident that was suffering from a mental health crisis.
Officer was dispatched to the west edge of town to watch for a vehicle reportedly traveling over 100 mph. Officer located the vehicle, but the complaint was unfounded.
