September 23, 2024 through September 29, 2024

September 23
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of SW 7 th Street for a civil matter involving a vehicle that was recently purchased.
Officer was dispatched to Bonham Road west of Galva for a loose dog complaint. The owner was contacted and came to pick it up.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of NW 3 rd Ave for a criminal damage to property complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of SE 2 nd Street to assist a motorist after they locked their keys inside. A Stark Co deputy came and was able to unlock the vehicle.

September 24
Officer took a complaint involving a 15 year old child receiving a tattoo over the weekend at a residence in Galva. After an investigation, Melissa Kelly, 47, Galva, was arrested for tattooing the body of a minor. She was released with a required court date.
Officer was dispatched to the storage units just north of town on County 5 for a report involving a burglary and criminal damage to a padlock.
Officer went to the 100 block of NE 6 th Ave to serve a subject a written banning letter from a downtown business after a weekend incident.

September 25
Officer was dispatched to assist the ambulance with an injured child complaint. A child was injured after rough-housing with a sibling. The victim was transported for evaluation.
Officer was dispatched to the 2000 block of County Highway 5 for a civil standby to retrieve property.
During the standby, a vehicle pulled up near the officer. The officer recognized the driver and ran his information. As the result, Rolando Brand, 30, Miami, FL, was arrested for not having a valid driver’s license and for a Broward Co, FL, warrant for grand theft 3 rd degree. He was transported to the Henry Co Jail.

September 26
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 2 nd Street in reference to a disabled vehicle that was taken without permission.
Officer was dispatched to the 800 block of NW 3 rd Ave for a rolling domestic battery complaint in a moving vehicle. As the result, a 12 year old Galva juvenile was issued a juvenile referral to Henry Co Court Services for domestic battery.
Officer was dispatched to a residence on NE 4 th Street for an out-of-control juvenile. The subject had left the house and was located several blocks away. The child continued to be very uncooperative with the officer and was taken by ambulance for a mental health evaluation.
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of SW 4 th Street for a 9-1-1 hang up complaint. It was determined to be a pocket dial.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 4 th Street for a 9-1-1 rapid s-o-s complaint. IT was determined to be a medical call. Stark Co Medic was paged for transport.

September 27
Officer was dispatched to the 800 block of NE 3 rd Street for a domestic dispute involving a juvenile. The juvenile was transported to a relative’s house to cool off.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NE 4 th Street for a reported juvenile runaway. The juvenile was located north of town walking and was returned to the residence.
Officer was dispatched to the 600 block of SW 4 th Street to assist a citizen who had located an old supply of ammunition that needed to be disposed of.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of Front Street for a disorderly conduct-telephone harassment complaint. The offender was told to cease communications.

September 28
Officer met with a resident at the Galva PD to recover a cell phone that had been found in the 300 block of NW 1 st Ave. Officer was able to find the owner and return it.
Officer was dispatched to the 1000 block of North Center Ave for a stolen vehicle report. It was determined that the vehicle was present and the complaint had a mis-understanding with another subject.
Officer was dispatched to the 800 block of NE 3 rd Street to conduct an animal welfare check.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of NW 6 th Ave for a fireworks complaint. Officer was not able to locate.
Officer was dispatched to a residence on SE 7 th Ave for a child welfare check after a passerby saw a small child outside that appeared to be unsupervised. Officer determined that the child was letting a dog out and both parents were nearby.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of SE 8 th Ave for a 9-1-1 hang up complaint. It was determined to be a mis dial.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 4 th Street for a loose dog complaint. Officer was not able to locate it.

September 29
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 4 th Street to assist a citizen whose dog had ran away. Officer was not able to locate it.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SE 5 th Ave for a theft complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of SW 4 th Street for a 9-1-1 call. It was an accidental call from an apple watch.
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of SE 1 st Ave for an illegal burning complaint on a non-burn day. The fire was put out.
