While patrolling, officer witnessed a truck losing a load of tree branches it was hauling in the 900 block of SE 2 nd Street. Officer assisted with traffic control and helped driver load branches back into truck.
Officer spoke to a walk-in complainant about a trespassing / banning latter that was served several weeks ago.
Officer met with a group of subjects that were at City Hall attempting to get a solicitor’s permit for home improvements. A permit was ultimately issued.
Officer was flagged down in the 300 block of NW 4 th Ave by a citizen who appeared to be suffering from a mental health crisis.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of SW 8 th Ave for several 9-1-1 calls and life alert activations.
Officer determined that subject was testing and setting up a new life alert pendant.
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of NW 4 th Street for a child custody exchange.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 900 block of SE 2 nd Street, the driver, Chessa Griffin, 34, Kewanee, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration suspended for mandatory insurance and operating an uninsured vehicle. She was released with a required court date. A passenger, Michael Guerrero, 33, Kewanee, was arrested on a Henry Co warrant for 2 counts of failing to appear on the charges of driving while license suspended. He was taken to the Henry Co Jail.
July 1
Officer was dispatched to the 900 block of North Center Ave for an attempted break-in. Minor damage was noted, but entry was not made.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of NE 2 nd Street to check on a suspicious person getting water from the side of a building.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of NE 4 th Street for a solicitor complaint. Officer located the subjects in the 100 block of NW 2 nd Ave. They did not have a permit and were told to cease their activities.
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of NW 4 th Street for a child custody exchange.
Officer was dispatched to assist Stark CO with attempting to locate a vehicle that reportedly was involved in a hit-and-run accident that was traveling on Route 17. Officer did not locate.
Officer assisted Henry Co and the Stark Co Medic, with a private property motorcycle accident north of town.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 200 block of Exchange Street, Jonathan Rodriguez, 41, Galesburg, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration suspended for mandatory insurance and operating an uninsured vehicle. He was released with a required court date.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 1000 block of SE 2 nd Street, Rayvone Taylor, 36, Dahinda, was arrested for improper use of registration, operating a vehicle when registration suspended for mandatory insurance, operating an uninsured vehicle, and having expired registration. He was released with a required court date.
Officer located a wanted subject in the 200 block of NE 7 th Street. As the result, Braden Jones, 46, Galva, was arrested on a Henry Co warrant for failing to appear on the charge of driving while license revoked. He was issued a notice to appear in court and released.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of SW 4 th Ave for a loose dog complaint. Officer was not able to locate.
July 2
Officer was dispatched to the 700 block of NW 4 th Street to assist a subject that appeared to be suffering from a mental health crisis.
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of SE 2 nd Street for a domestic disturbance.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of NW 2 nd Ave for a bicycle theft complaint. It was later located in Veteran’s Park.
Officer, along with the fire department, were dispatched to the 00 block of NE 3 rd Street for a kitchen fire.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NE 9 th Street to assist a citizen.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of Front Street for a welfare check.
July 3
Officer was dispatched to the 900 block of NW 6 th Street for a complaint of a cat stuck in a tree.
Officer was dispatched to the 700 block of NW 4 th Street to assist a subject that appeared to be suffering from a mental health crisis.
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of NW 4 th Street for a child custody exchange.
Officer met a citizen at the Galva PD to recover some packages that were delivered to the wrong address. The packages were later taken to their rightful owner.
Officer was dispatched to the east edge of Galva for a 2 vehicle accident with damage only. A crash report was completed.
July 4
Officer was flagged down in the 00 block of SW 2 nd Street in reference to vehicles parked along the 5k race route.
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of NE 3 rd Ave for a physical domestic disturbance.
Officer was dispatched to the 700 block of NW 4 th Street to assist a citizen who appeared to be suffering from a mental health crisis.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NE 9 th Street to remove an unwanted subject.
Officer was dispatched to the Galva Park District 3x during the fireworks for various 9-1-1 calls. Officers were not able to locate anyone needing assistance.
Officer was dispatched to a residence on NW 5 th Ave for a complaint involving an earlier altercation and suicidal subject. The offender was located in Kewanee.
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of SE 2 nd Street to assist a citizen.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 00 block of SW 6 th Street, Jessi Choate, Avon, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration suspended for mandatory insurance. She was released with a required court date.
July 5
While patrolling, officer found an injured person laying near the roadway in the 00 block of SW 9 th Ave. Witnesses advised officer that subject was struck by a vehicle, being driven by a family member. Victim was taken by ambulance. During investigation, involved parties declined to cooperate. No charges were filed.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NE 9 th Street to remove an unwanted subject.
July 6
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of SW 6 th Ave for a city ordinance violation. The complaint was unfounded.
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of SW 3 rd Street for a vehicle parked in the roadway. Subject was able to move vehicle to side of roadway.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of SE 2 nd Ave for a 9-1-1 hang up complaint. It was a mis dial.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of NW 2 nd Ave for a 9-1-1 open line call. It was determined to be a pocket dial.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NW 8 th Ave for a loose dog complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of NE 5 th Street to remove an unwanted subject.
Officer, along with the fire department and Stark Co Medic, were dispatched to a vehicle crash that struck a parked car and also struck a house in the 500 block of SW 4 th Ave. Henry Co also responded and ultimately charged the driver with traffic offenses and DUI-drugs.
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of NW 1 st Street for a male subject “passed out in a parking lot.” Upon arrival, officer learned the subject had a warrant from LaSalle Co for failing to appear on retail theft charges. Jason Sherbeyn, 48, Galva, was ultimately given a notice to appear and released.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of SE 7 th Ave for a complaint involving a group of juveniles that were knocking on doors and then running away. The subjects were located and ultimately turned over to a guardian.
