October 27
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of SW 3 rd Street for a loose dog complaint. The dog was impounded and later returned to it’s owner.
Officer spoke to a resident in the 300 block of NW 1 st Ave who had reported their cat had ran away the previous day. The cat returned home.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 800 block of West Division Street, Laura McNeeley, 63, Galesburg, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration suspended for mandatory insurance. She was released with a required court date.
Officer was dispatched to Galva City Hall to speak to a walk-in complainant about a neighbor dispute.
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of SE 2 nd Ave for a loose dog complaint. The dog was returned to it’s owner.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NW 7 th Ave for a verbal domestic disturbance.
Officer was dispatched to the 600 block of NE 2 nd Street for a verbal domestic disturbance / civil property dispute.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of SW 7 th Street for a hit-and-run accident involving significant damage.
October 28
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NE 2 nd Street for a civil property dispute.
Officer was dispatched to assist the Geneseo Police Department to deliver a message to a parent in the 200 block of NW 7 th Ave.
Officer was dispatched to the 1000 block of SE 2 nd Street for an activated panic alarm. It was determined to be a false alarm, due to a power failure.
Officer was dispatched to the 800 block of NW 1 st Ave for a loose dog complaint. Officer was not able to contact the animal owner, but the complainant was able to contact them through social media and the dog was returned.
Officer went to the 600 block of SE 2 nd Street to follow up on the hit-and-run accident that was reported the previous night. As the result, Clair Whiteside III, 29, Galva, was arrested for leaving the scene of a property damage accident, reckless driving, and improper lane usage. He was released with a required court date and a crash report was completed.
October 29
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of NW 3 rd Street for an activated burglar alarm. It was determined to be a false alarm.
Officer was dispatched to the 700 block of NW 3 rd Ave for a traffic complaint involving a vehicle driving through the yard. It was determined to be a parent giving their young children a ride through the yard.
Officer had an abandoned vehicle towed that was left in the 300 block of Commercial Street.
Officer spoke to a complainant by telephone in reference to a theft of flowers from the Galva Cemetery.
Officer was dispatched the Chester Street railroad tracks for an “I-phone detected crash.” Officer found the phone, which had fallen off the roof of a vehicle.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of NW 8 th Ave for a complaint involving a suspicious vehicle that had driven past several times. Officer was not able to locate.
October 30
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of NE 1 st Ave for an animal neglect complaint. Officer spoke to the animal owner and the complaint was unfounded.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of NW 3 rd Street for “a crash detection alert.” Officer spoke to the owner of the phone, who was having phone issues. No crash had occurred.
Officer was dispatched to check the welfare of a subject on SE 2 nd Street after a subject reportedly made suicidal comments.
Officer was dispatched to check the welfare of a subject on NE 3 rd Street after the subject reportedly made some possible suicidal comments.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of NW 9 th Street for a complaint involving forgery and identity theft. This remains under investigation.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of NW 1 st Ave for a complaint involving a group of juveniles causing a disturbance. They were dispersed.
October 31
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of NW 8 th Ave for a possible domestic disturbance in the roadway. The subjects had left in a vehicle prior to officer’s arrival.
Officer was dispatched to the 900 block of SE 2 nd Street for several 9-1-1 lines that plotted there. Officer was not able to locate anyone needing assistance.
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of Morgan Road to assist a citizen.
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of East Division Street for a loose dog complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the intersection of James B Young Road and 1950 East for “a crash detection alert.” Officer found a phone in the roadway and returned it to it’s owner.
Officer went to the 300 block of NW 3 rd Ave to participate in the annual trick or treating event.
Officer was dispatched to meet a resident at the Galva PD, who had an unknown complaint. Officer was able to assist him.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NE 6 th Street for a loose dog complaint. One of the two dogs were located and returned.
November 1
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of NW 8 th Ave for a trespassing complaint. Officer located the offender, and gave him a trespassing warning that he was no longer welcome on the premises.
Officer was dispatched to the 1000 block of SW 2 nd Street for a verbal domestic disturbance / child custody dispute.
Officer was dispatched to the 600 block of NW 1 st Ave for an illegal burning complaint. The resident was burning leaves and was within the ordinance. Complaint unfounded.
November 2
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NW 7 th Ave for a 9-1-1 hang up complaint. It was determined to be an accidental dial.
Officer was dispatched to the 1300 block of SE 2 nd Street for a small field fire. The fire department was able to put the fire out.
