The Memorial Hospital Foundation has officially launched the “Generations in Bloom” capital campaign, aiming to raise $2 million over three years for a new Willow Grove Childcare and Learning Center in Carthage. This innovative project will unite children and seniors, fostering daily, meaningful connections through shared activities and structured programming. The planned facility will feature purpose-built classrooms and accessible activity spaces, targeting the growing demand for high-quality childcare and intergenerational engagement. Community members can participate as “Rooted in Growth Partners” with a $5,000 commitment or explore naming opportunities for lasting impact.
The Willow Grove Childcare and Learning Center is set to unveil a new facility designed to nurture children from six weeks to five years old alongside senior residents. This innovative campus will feature purpose-built classrooms and shared activity spaces, fostering daily, meaningful interactions between generations. The center’s approach goes beyond care and education—it’s rooted in connecting children with older adults, enhancing communication skills, providing seniors with a renewed sense of purpose, and strengthening community bonds.
“As we look to the future, ‘Generations in Bloom’ represents more than a building—it is an investment in people,” said Greta Wetzel, Memorial Hospital Foundation Executive Director. “It reflects our commitment to fostering connection, strengthening families, and enhancing quality of life at every stage.”
The Foundation has announced its “Rooted in Growth Partners” initiative, inviting 400 individuals, families, and businesses to pledge $5,000 over three years. This collective giving will serve as the campaign’s backbone, highlighting unity and shared responsibility within the community. Wetzel emphasized that these partners are central to shaping a legacy for future generations, benefiting children, seniors, and neighbors alike. Additionally, the campaign features naming opportunities starting at $25,000, granting permanent recognition to donors. Named spaces will honor those dedicated to fostering a vibrant environment where all ages learn, connect, and thrive together.
“This is an opportunity to create a legacy where generations grow together,” said Wetzel. “Your support helps cultivate a space where compassion is nurtured, dignity is honored, and meaningful connections take root.”
