Six standout students from Geneseo High School have been selected to join the prestigious 2025 Illinois Music Education Association All-State Student Programs in Peoria. The Illinois Music Education Association selected 1,500 students to participate this year. Jacob Berry, Clara Huddleston, Addison McSparin, Elizabeth Mroz, Kara Sancken, and Joseph Versluis will showcase their talents in bands and honors ensembles during the event, taking place from January 29 to February 1.
This year, over 7,000 students from across Illinois were chosen from more than 10,000 virtual auditions to participate in district festivals. The All-State Programs include performances, the Future Music Educators Seminar, and the Composition Track, highlighting the state’s most gifted young musicians and creators.
The highlight of the weekend will be a series of concerts on January 31 and February 1, featuring jazz, elementary, junior high, and honors ensembles, all led by renowned conductors.
