Girl Scout Troop 5665 recently engaged in a hands-on cooking class at Memorial Hospital’s Health & Wellness Center. Dietitians Ashlyn Housewright and Julie Shoemaker guided the troop through the session, focusing on nutrition’s vital role in promoting health. As part of their ‘Eating for Beauty’ badge efforts, the scouts learned how to prepare healthy meals, reinforcing the importance of balanced diets. The experience not only provided practical cooking skills but also empowered these young participants with knowledge about positive food choices and their effects on well-being. Such initiatives reinforce the importance of early education in nutrition and health.
