The Henry & Stark County Health Departments and First Choice Healthcare Clinics in Kewanee, Colona, and Toulon, proclaim April 22nd to April 26th as Every Kid Healthy Week. Every Kid Healthy Week is an annual celebration of child and family health and wellness achievements and goals. Every Kid Healthy Week is celebrated during the last full week of April. It highlights the actions organizations and schools are taking to improve the health and wellness of their kids.
RaeAnn Tucker, Director of Health Promotion, said, “This week also gives our staff at the Henry and Stark County Health Departments and our First Choice Healthcare clinics a chance to highlight how we are continually working with local school districts and other social service agencies to highlight the services available local to kids and families that aim to improve their nutritional, physical, and mental health.”
The Department reminds residents that they offer vital clinics and behavioral health services through their First Choice Healthcare Clinics in Kewanee, Colona, and Toulon, in addition to the vast array of public health and community and school health education services offered by the Health Departments.
First Choice Healthcare clinics offer a full range of clinic services, which include: sick appointments; family planning; WIC food supplemental program; school/sport exams; chronic disease management; STD testing and treatment; work physicals; TB testing; lead screenings; and immunizations. In addition, First Choice Healthcare offers behavioral and mental health services to local schools, students, families, and residents. Henry and Stark County residents can now access integrated primary medical and behavioral health services in one healthcare home.
