In an inspiring display of community spirit, a local Julie’s Toy Drive has seen remarkable success this year, overflowing with contributions from generous donors. Randi from Kewanee Menards kicked off the season with a substantial collection box that quickly filled to the brim. Further donations continued to stream in, ensuring even more joy for those in need. The collected toys were diligently distributed to the Salvation Army by enthusiastic volunteers, including a dedicated grandson who helped in the memory of his grandmother, Julie Perkins, whose legacy continues to spread smiles. The community is now eager to sustain this charitable momentum, with plans underway for future fundraising events to keep this heartwarming tradition alive.
“Thank you to all that continue to support the Toy Drive. It means the world to me and I’m sure Julie is smiling down on us right now. Our grandson helped Toby Wheelhouse pick up the donations at PNB and delivered all the donations to Salvation Army this morning. I hope to do some fundraising in the near future so we can continue this amazing tradition.”
