The 2024 Henry and Stark County Relay for Life walk is on Saturday, August 17th, from 6 to 10 PM, in Windmont Park, in Kewanee. A small group of volunteers plans this yearly event: “Our focus is to celebrate our survivors, honor those still fighting, and to remember those we have lost to cancer.” You can find luminary forms at Breedloves, the State Bank of Toulon, Peoples National Bank, and Hair Trends. You can purchase a luminary on Saturday night at the event as well. The goal is to raise $40,000 this year, but they need your help to fight cancer and celebrate cancer survivors. They have raised $5,827.92 so far and there are two days left before the survivor walk. You can donate here, join the relay, or purchase luminaries here. You can join the cancer survivors during the open walk from 7 to 9 PM.
The Luminary Ceremony is at 9 PM, and there is a silent auction from 4 to 8 PM in the shelter house. This is an excellent opportunity to remember those lost to cancer and celebrate those who survived.
