Henry County Jail Administrator Resigns Following Investigation into Off-Duty Misconduct

The administrator of the Henry County Jail resigns following an investigation into allegations of misconduct while off-duty. The Henry County Sheriff’s Office was contacted on January 7, 2024, with allegations regarding off-duty misconduct by jail administrator Jerrico Lessard. The Sheriff’s Office began an internal investigation into the allegations the next day and placed Lessard on paid administrative leave, according to a release by the Henry County Sheriff’s Office.

The Illinois State Police was contacted for an independent investigation to provide transparency during the course of the investigation and is fully cooperating with the Illinois State Police and providing all the necessary information to aid their investigation.

The Sheriff’s Office received a letter of resignation from Lessard on January 23rd. Jerrico Lessard has been the jail administrator since 2021, according to the release.

This is still an active investigation. No further information can be released at this time.
