Henry County Tentative Property Assessment Factor Set at 1.0000

Henry County’s property assessment equalization factor has been set at a tentative 1.0000, according to Illinois Department of Revenue Director David Harris. This “multiplier” is designed to ensure property assessment uniformity across counties, a key requirement since many taxing districts extend over multiple counties. State law mandates local property assessments at one-third of market value, except for farmland, which is assessed differently. The factor is recalculated each year by comparing recent property sales to assessed values. With assessments in Henry County currently averaging 33.35 percent of market value, the department’s decision aims to keep local property valuations consistent with state requirements. This tentative number may change if significant new data emerges, and a public hearing will be scheduled before the multiplier is finalized for taxes payable in 2026.
