In Henry County, a high-speed pursuit ended with the arrest of 51-year-old Andrew M. Dura from Mineral, Illinois. The incident began when Dura was caught driving at 98 mph in a 55 mph zone and refused to pull over. After successfully stopping the vehicle, deputies discovered methamphetamine, marijuana, and multiple controlled substances. Dura now faces an array of charges, including operating a vehicle on a suspended foreign license in Illinois, reckless driving, and possession of several illegal substances. Authorities also charged him with fleeing, obstructing a peace officer, and other serious offenses. The investigation continues.
No petition to detain has been filed, and the defendant is scheduled for release today. The case is set for Jury Pre-Trial on April 29, 2025, at 9 AM. Dura has been advised of his rights in absentia and will be released under standard statutory pretrial release conditions. These conditions include not violating the law, appearing in court as ordered, complying with court orders and processes, and keeping his address updated with the court.
