Crossroads Cultural Connections is stirring up holiday cheer with its annual dinner theatre fundraiser, featuring the laugh-out-loud comedy “Uncle Tom’s Christmas Family Reunion.” Written by local playwright Tom Akers, this interactive show invites guests into the delightful chaos of a family gathering gone awry—complete with eccentric relatives, quirky games, and on-the-spot audience participation. The event promises hearty food, live musical entertainment from Lewis Knudsen, and a night packed with surprises at Midland Golf Club in Kewanee. Performances run December 19th and 20th, with dinner reservations required by December 15th.
“I am beyond thrilled to share this Tomfoolery with our family members; family secrets will be revealed and we’ll play all of the traditional-sort-of-Christmas games,” says Mr. Akers.
Dinner service begins at 7 PM, with doors opening at 6:30. Tickets are $25 for dinner and the show and $10 for the show only and are available at xroadscc.org/events. Dinner reservations must be secured by December 15th for guaranteed seating and full participation.
“I’ve scoured the family albums and have assembled a cast of family members, all of which are possibly awaiting trial or just released on parole, who are sure to remind you of the Swiss Family Robinson, or the Kranks! Come and join the family while supporting a great cause!. Please leave all expensive jewelry at home. Uncle Tom is not responsible for any “lost” or stolen items.”, says director Akers.
