Elementary students immersed themselves in hands-on learning at the Science FUNdamentals camp hosted at Illinois Valley Community College (IVCC). During the camp, young participants explored the periodic table, experimented with states of matter, and engaged in projects demonstrating the scientific method. The activities were designed and led by chemists from Carus, LLC, who teamed up with IVCC to bring science to life for curious minds. The aim was to spark interest in science through interactive demonstrations and personalized instruction, encouraging students to see themselves as future scientists. Organizers hope the experience inspires lasting enthusiasm for discovery and exploration.
