The Illinois Conservation Foundation is now inviting nominations for the Illinois Outdoor Excellence Awards. This program honors both individuals and organizations demonstrating exceptional commitment to conservation efforts across the state. Those selected will be celebrated during a special gala event in Glen Ellyn, scheduled for March 2026. Nominees may include educators, volunteers, or community groups actively advancing outdoor stewardship or environmental education. The nomination process is open until October 30, 2025, and submissions can be completed through the foundation’s official website. This initiative spotlights the ongoing dedication of Illinois residents to preserving natural resources for future generations.

“It’s inspiring to see all of the ways people are giving back to the outdoors in Illinois,” said ICF Executive Director Jenny Vaughn. “From storytellers and volunteer groups to small businesses and digital creators, their efforts strengthen our conservation legacy and invite more people to experience the outdoors.”

The 2026 ICF Gala is on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at Abbington Distinctive Banquets in Glen Ellyn. For more information about the Illinois Outdoor Excellence Awards, visit ICF online or contact ICF at 217-785-2003.
