The Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation is expanding its digital offerings by adding 21 new professional license types to its online platform, CORE. This move is part of an ongoing effort to streamline the licensing process and significantly cut down on paperwork for professionals across the state. By shifting more services online, the department hopes to boost efficiency and make it easier for individuals to apply for and renew their licenses. The agency expects the full rollout of CORE to be complete by August 2026, marking a major step forward in modernizing state licensing procedures.

“The expansion of CORE means increased accessibility for applicants, ensuring more qualified professionals can obtain their licenses in a timely and efficient manner,” said IDFPR Secretary Mario Treto, Jr. “We are now one step closer to making CORE available for all license types, ultimately benefiting both consumers and professionals alike across Illinois.”

IDFPR will continue to update the public on significant updates throughout CORE’s implementation, along with improvements to its current licensing processes. More information can be found on IDFPR’s website: https://idfpr.illinois.gov/.
