The Illinois Farm Bureau’s political action committee, ACTIVATOR, endorsed Congressman Eric Sorensen in the race to continue representing Illinois’ 17th District. The endorsement follows Sorensen’s bipartisan work on the House Agriculture Committee to pass a Farm Bill that works on behalf of Illinois farmers and rural communities.
Sorensen issued the following statement: “As a meteorologist for over two decades, I was trusted with giving our farmers and neighbors the information they needed to do their jobs. In Congress, I’m working hard to remain a trusted voice for our local producers by delivering bipartisan results on the House Agriculture Committee. I’m honored to be a ‘Friend of Agriculture’ and will always bring the voices of the hardworking, incredible Illinois farmers, who feed and power the world, to Washington.”
Jeremy Flikkema, Chairman of the Illinois Farm Bureau ACTIVATOR District 17 Trustee Committee, issued the following statement: “We appreciate Congressman Sorensen’s efforts on bipartisanship to truly represent the constituents of the 17th district. His emphasis on understanding agriculture during a Farm bill year and his availability to the farmers in the district means a lot.”
