The Illinois Sheriffs’ Association is set to distribute scholarships totaling over $58,000 for the 2025-2026 academic year. These funds are allocated for tuition, books, and fees at certified Illinois institutions, including online learning options. Henry County Sheriff Josh Verscheure has announced a $500 scholarship. Eligibility requires applicants to be permanent Illinois residents enrolled full-time. Applications, available at local Sheriff’s offices and the ISA website, must be submitted by March 14, 2025. This initiative underscores a commitment to fostering educational opportunities, irrespective of race, age, gender, or national origin.
Students must complete the application, answer the essay question, and return all documentation to the Sheriff’s office in their permanent county of residence by March 14, 2025 (must be postmarked by this date).
