Illinois Valley Community College is set for extensive upgrades following the board’s approval of a $3.8 million bid to Vissering Construction. Planned renovations will bring a state-of-the-art microbiology lab, modernize the Assessment Center, and transform the cafeteria corridor, aiming to enhance learning spaces and campus life. The board meeting also included a warm welcome for new student trustee Danica Scoma and expressions of gratitude to outgoing board members for their dedication and service. Dr. Amy Boyles served eight years, and Jane Goetz served 12 years. Construction is expected to begin soon, positioning the college for improved facilities that support both students and staff well into the future.
