A study highlights IVCC’s influence on the lives of its students and the regional economy
A new economic impact study shows Illinois Valley Community College added $142.7 million to the regional economy in fiscal year 2023-24, supporting 1,949 jobs — about one in every 37 jobs in the Illinois Valley. The Lightcast report says IVCC’s biggest contribution comes from alumni, who generated $112.2 million in added income and supported 1,420 jobs. Student spending added another $4.4 million, while college operations contributed $25.3 million. IVCC served 6,876 students during the year. President Tracy Morris says the study shows IVCC’s role as a key partner for local families, businesses, schools, health care facilities, and communities.
“IVCC has had a tremendous impact on the Illinois Valley and surrounding communities for over 100 years. This study helps to show this impact in a very tangible way that helps our community, businesses, and families see how IVCC is a key partner for our district,” according to IVCC President Tracy Morris.
President Morris expanded on this, saying that “The impact of our alumni can be seen across our district in our businesses, schools, health care facilities, police stations, and so much more. IVCC graduates are active in our community agencies and are a vital part of making our area great.”
