Illinois Valley Community College is set to expand its agricultural program, thanks to a major donation from the historic 177-year-old W.H. Maze Company. The generous gift will support the development of a new soil laboratory, part of the Dr. Alfred E. Wisgoski Agricultural Education Center. This laboratory aims to provide hands-on experience for students pursuing careers in agriculture and environmental sciences. College officials state that construction is on track, with the facility expected to open its doors in 2027. The partnership signals a strong commitment to local education and the advancement of modern farming techniques in the region.
“Maze is honored to support IVCC in the development of this new facility,” said Roelif Loveland, president of Maze Company. “We believe investing in cutting-edge educational infrastructure is essential to cultivating the next generation of agricultural leaders and innovators. Together, we are helping to build a foundation for progress and sustainability in agriculture.”
IVCC President Dr. Tracy Morris said, “We extend our sincere gratitude to the Maze Company and the family for their generous and impactful contribution to this building campaign at IVCC. Their commitment plays a pivotal role in advancing our efforts to provide state-of-the-art
