Illinois Valley Community College is launching specialized courses for aspiring real estate brokers and home inspectors. The broker course satisfies all Illinois state licensing requirements, providing a direct path for those seeking a career in real estate. Meanwhile, the home inspector program combines online coursework with hands-on supervised field inspections, offering practical, real-world experience. Both options are open for enrollment, and participants can register or find more details by visiting the college’s official website. These programs aim to support workforce development in the local community and help individuals gain credentials for growing career fields.

A new real estate course is being offered at the Oglesby campus, running from January 13th to May 5th. Classes will take place Tuesday evenings from 6 to 10 PM in Room E-213, with two additional full-day Saturday sessions on March 21st and April 18th. Attendance at all sessions is mandatory. Interested students can enroll through the IVCC Admissions Office by phone or at ivcc.edu, using course number REA-1200-300. The tuition fee is $931, and scholarships or tuition reimbursements may be available. Required textbooks are available for purchase online at ivccbookstore.com.

The 60-hour course, offered online in a self-paced format, also requires five in-person field inspections facilitated by American Home Inspectors Training. Students will prepare for the National Home Inspector Exam and have the option to earn commercial, radon, and mold inspection certificates. Tuition is $2,199, but grant funding through IVCC Continuing Education may reduce costs by half. For details on locations, registration, and program inquiries, visit IVCC’s website or call the Continuing Education Center at 815-224-0427.
