Update – The Kewanee Police Department are expected to issue a press release Monday morning.
This is a developing story. There was an incident involving an Amtrak Passenger train. The train will be stopped for an undetermined time. Police have roads around and along the tracks closed for an investigation. This includes East 7th Street off of North East Street. We will provide updates as the investigation has concluded and the authorities issue a press release.
According to Amtrak, “As of 8:20 PM CT, Trespasser Activity: Train 383 is delayed west of Princeton (PCT) due to an unauthorized trespasser coming into contact with train equipment. A delay of 2 hours or more is anticipated. Updates to come as further information is provided. We thank you for your patience and understanding during this delay”
