The Colona City Council has announced the upcoming appointment of Interim Chief Clinton Powless as the next Chief of Police for the City of Colona Police Department. Powless is expected to be officially recommended at the November 24, 2025, City Council meeting, followed by his swearing-in ceremony. With over 25 years of law enforcement experience, including service with both the Palatine and Colona Police Departments, Powless brings a wealth of leadership to the role. His career began with the Palatine Police Department in 2000, before he joined Colona in 2008 and rose to sergeant by 2017. He is committed to prioritizing trust, community engagement, and transparency. Outside his duties, he enjoys family time, camping, and playing pickleball with his wife and two children.
Interim Chief Powless said, “I look forward to continuing my service to the citizens of Colona in my new role as Chief of Police, fostering trust, collaboration, and community engagement.”
