Illinois Valley Community College was well-represented at the recent North American Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture student judging conference, held at West Texas A&M University. Agriculture students Shelby Einhaus, Sam Sondgeroth, and Hunter Staton competed in challenging events, including soils judging, ag business management, and ag mechanics. Accompanied by program co-coordinators Willard Mott and Jennifer Timmers, the team put their classroom knowledge to the test. In one event, students interpreted soil samples in field test pits, gaining hands-on experience. Their participation highlighted IVCC’s commitment to agricultural education and real-world learning opportunities for its students.
